Sarkar 3 is yet another political revenge thriller by Bollywood known for its intensity, suspense, and drama. The film revolves around Rajveer Singh's character who wants to get even with the powerful Sarkar family who are corrupt politicians. With an intense plot that includes eye-catching performances from Akshay Kumar and his usual supporting cast, this film has swept across the Indian territory taking in over sixty crores at the box office so far. By the end of Sarkar 3, that rich sum would probably double or triple. The third installment of the Sarkar series features Akshay Kumar in the lead role. It also stars Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Manoj Bajpai. The film released all over India on 6 May 2018 under the production banner of Goldmines Telefilms & Sohail Khan Productions jointly with T-Series, distributed by UTV Motion Pictures. The film was directed by debutant director Sujata Gupta who has directed four films so far including Vishwaroop 2, Kabir Singh and Tipu Sultan under the Banner of Sohail Khan Productions. Akshay Kumar who returned to the direction of films after eight years with his last film, Befikre, was excited to do so again. The first look poster of the film was unveiled at the Milan exhibition centre by Sujata Gupta on 5 April 2018. A few days later, another poster shared by Akshay Kumar now sporting a beard was released. On 13 April 2018, another poster was released this time featuring Akshay and Kareena Khan in the lead roles. The film marks Kareena's third outing with Akshay and second with his home banner, Sohail Khan Productions. The official trailer of the film was launched on 20 May 2018 which depicts a series of events that will unfold in the film. The trailer promises an intense story and good action scenes set in a small town environment where violence erupts due to political rivalry between families trying to grab power. The trailer has been seen over 3 million views on YouTube by 30 May 2018. The film was released on 6 May 2018 all over India to positive reviews from critics. The film earned over Rs 200 million in its first week which is a very good start for the film. The film received mixed to negative reviews from critics.
